Veterinarian and Practice Owner.
Lynne was born in the Riverina in NSW. After finishing high school she worked as a governess on a cattle station in the Gulf of Carpentaria. Following this, she was admitted to the Veterinary Science degree at the University of Sydney, graduating in 1986. It was there that she met husband Jim Edwards, also a veterinarian. They travelled around Australia together in 1987-88, eventually settling in Casterton, where she commenced work at the Casterton Veterinary Clinic.
Lynne and Jim were married in 1989, and their first child, a son, Michael, was born in 1992. Their second child, a daughter, Sarah came along in 1994. Lynne left Casterton Vet Clinic in 1993, and took a break from veterinary science working to set up a flower export business, as a journalist for the local paper, and as a subsistence farmer.
In 1996, Lynne returned to the veterinary profession working part-time in several vet clinics around the district until 2000. It was then that she set up Glenelg Veterinary Services with Karen O'Connell, going on to buy the business outright in 2005. Not one to rest on her laurels, Lynne passed her membership exams in small animal surgery in 2006, and was admitted as a member to the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists. Lynne completed her Diploma in Practice Management in 2009. Lynne and Jim live with Abbey, an old labrador who originally came to them as refugee.
